Dear ILIAS developers, dear ILIAS service providers,
We are looking for a new maintainer for the language service in ILIAS. The current maintainer of this service, Fred Neumann, has asked to resign from maintainership due to missing time for this activity. The maintainership concerns the code base in the following directory of ILIAS: /Services/Language
It would be great if a new maintainer of the language service would not only take care of the existing service and fix related bugs but also to be interested in improving the service, refactoring it in parts and improve its usage and usability.
To release Fred Neumann from his duties soon I would like to hand over the maintainership in the short term. If you are interested in taking over the maintainership of the Language service, please send me an e-mail until December 06, 2020 and give a brief statement about your qualification and motivation.
A decision about the maintainership will be made by ILIAS product manager and the technical board of the ILIAS society until mid of December at the latest.

Dear ILIAS developers,
We finally have completed coding ILIAS 7 and published a first beta release today. This allows us to start testing of ILIAS 7 on Monday, November 16, 2020. Thanks to all of you who contributed to this great piece of software.
Together with 7.0 beta1 we also created a „release_7" branch for ILIAS 7:https://github.com/ILIAS-eLearning/ILIAS/commits/release_7. As you know from past versions, this branch is only open for bug fixes. New features for ILIAS 8 have to be committed to trunk (which is now open for new features). But don’t forget to commit your ILIAS 7 bug fixes to trunk, too.
In case not all of your ILIAS 7 feature wiki pages have a completed documentation section (chap. 8) yet, please add the missing information and screenshots within the next days. It is a MUST to do this until Coding Completed, so please take this requirement seriously.
And last but not least: please check if your ILIAS 7 features appear on the release 7 page: https://docu.ilias.de/goto_docu_wiki_wpage_5956_1357.html. If not, you probably haven’t set the metadata correctly. The release 7 page lists only features with status „published in trunk“. All other statuses are ignored.
