Dear colleagues,
please remove your usage of the component "CSV" [1] or replace it with "Excel" [2] until coding completed of ILIAS 11. You might either use that component directly or you might still have a legacy table that supports CSV exports. Please make sure to drop that dependency in both cases.
Currently there is no one that feels reponsible for the component, hence we (i.e. the Technical Board) are looking to remove it from our source code as soon as possible. The "Excel" component has a responsible person (thanks Stephan Kergomard) and should provide a suitable replacement for most use cases. Another option might be to abandon an export that currently uses CSV altogether. Please make sure to make according anouncements via our Jour Fixe [3] and the Feature Wiki [4] in both cases,.
We are currently revisiting this PR [5] that lists many dependencies that currently no one feels responsible for. We are trying to find fitting solutions all these dependencies. Please understand that we are not making the move to abandon some component lightly. Still, our options and resources are limited and we are looking to put them to the best and most sustainable use. We depend on your cooperation to keep our code base in a healthy and secure state. For the case of the spreadsheet exports we feel that all our time and effort is of best use if we soon unify to one component that is indeed taken care of.
