Dear maintainers of ILIAS components,
I would like to ask you to update the status of your features scheduled for 5.3 until end of the week. This would allow me to give a correct overview over all scheduled and funded features for 5.3. at the upcoming ILIAS development conference in Aachen. This is important especially for those features for which a contract has been settled or that are already in development. If your features are already up-to-date I would like to thank you very much for your support.
And if there a features on the list ‚Release 5.3‘ or on the list ‚Scheduled for 5.3‘ that won’t make it into 5.3 but are planned for 5.4 now, please change the metadata accordingly. A new tag „Suggested for 5.4“ has been introduced today. This will avoid that such feature requests are set automatically to ‚Not scheduled yet‘ when the first beta version of 5.3 has been published.
Thank you very much and kind regards,
Matthias

Dear Developers!
I stumble upon this little game about cross side scripting (XSS) exploits:
http://xss-game.appspot.com
If you have a little time and want to learn how XSS may work I suggest
you have a look.
XSS exploits are a serious issue that allow the stealing of passwords
and other harmful actions that may also affect your code in ILIAS.
Knowing how they work is the first step to prevent them.
And the game is fun as well =)
I also opened a thread in our forum for futher discussion:
http://www.ilias.de/docu/goto_docu_frm_5386_4226.html
Best regards!

Dear developers,
Today, ILIAS 5.2. has reached 98% of passed test cases. So we can hold
the release date for 5.2.0 and publish this first stable release of 5.2
tomorrow evening.
Please commit your latest bug fixes for 5.2 until tomorrow 6 p.m. CET
and set related test cases to 'retest'. Our SysAdmin Anton Arsenij will
create the new database template, update all languages and create a
5.2.0 release package on GitHub later that evening.
With the release of 5.2.0 we also will create a release branch for 5.2
and open the trunk for development of 5.3. Anton will send a
notification to this list when the branch has been made and the trunk is
open again.
Thanks to all of you who contributed to 5.2. You all made a really good
job. And last but not least - ILIAS 5.2 is PHP 7 compliant!
Kind regards,
Matthias

Dear developers,
We have a missing lang var #cron_crnhk_langlog_cron_job_info# in 5.2.
But I am unable to find out who is responsible for the LanguageLog cron
job that uses this lang var.
If one of you is the author of this code, please assign
http://www.ilias.de/mantis/view.php?id=19979 to yourself and fix it. Thanks!
Kind regards,
Matthias

Dear ILIAS-Devs,
Fabian Schmid and Oskar Truffer created a Pull Request (PR) regarding
the interface to a new Background Task service for ILIAS:
https://github.com/ILIAS-eLearning/ILIAS/pull/405
The Technical Board of the ILIAS Society expects this service to be
potentially interesting for a wide audience of ILIAS devs. We thus
invite you to have a look into the PR and provide feedback. Is the usage
of the interface sufficiently clear? Do you miss features in the
interface? Do you have suggestions for changes? Anything else?
Please note, that GitHub makes it easy to leave feedback by using the
comments or the code review feature:
https://help.github.com/articles/commenting-on-a-pull-request/https://help.github.com/articles/about-pull-request-reviews/
If there are any questions don't hesitate to contact me.
Best regards!
