ILIAS 9: Supported PHP Versions

Dear list members, due to the change of the ILIAS 9 release schedule[1], the Technical Board decided that ILIAS 9 will support[2] PHP 8.1 and PHP 8.2. The support for PHP 8.0 will be dropped. This allows our developers to write modern and sustainable code and to stay current with the accelerated release policy of the PHP project. We are aware that changing PHP versions at such a pace is a new and exciting development and imposing challenges for many developers (and administrators), but in order to keep the code of ILIAS in a state, where it does not silently degrade, we see no other option but following the lead of the programming language. If there is anything we can do to help you here or if you have any suggestions, feel free to contact us, as always. Workshop "Customizable Upload Limit"

August findet von 14:15 – 15:45 Uhr ein Workshop statt, um folgendes Feature gemeinsam zu konkretisieren: https://docu.ilias.de/goto_docu_wiki_wpage_6387_1357.html In einem ersten Teil (14:15 – 14:45) möchten wir mit den ILIAS Anwendern und Anwenderinnen die Anforderungen aufnehmen, die Institutionen bezüglich des Datei-Uploads und der Begrenzung pro Rolle / Komponente / Anwendungsfall haben. Die Umsetzung wird später alle Komponenten und damit deren Maintainer betreffen, die einen Datei-Upload implementiert haben. Daher möchten wir in einem zweiten Teil (14:45 – 15:45) mit den betroffenen Maintainern Lösungsansätze besprechen. Mantis: Reporting ILIAS 8 issues (in alpha and beta phase)

Dear list members, we would kindly ask you to use "8.0 Alpha" as product version when reporting issues for ILIAS 8 in the alpha phase (means: now). Unfortunately the availability of a configured version in Mantis cannot be differentiated between product version and target version. The "8.0 Beta1" version should only be used as >target< version and could be used as >product< version once the beta has been released.
