Dear ILIAS administrators,

We are very happy to announce that the first stable release of our new ILIAS version 9 has been published today, https://github.com/ILIAS-eLearning/ILIAS/releases/tag/v9.0 . Thanks to all developers, testers, funding partners and supporters for their contributions and support.

Even though 98% of the test cases are passed, there are still a few small errors in the release that we don't want to hide. Therefore, we will publish an updated list of known issues in ILIAS 9.0 on the release page in the next few days. Of course, we hope that we will be able to fix these bugs quickly and that nothing will stand in the way of a trouble-free use of ILIAS 9.

We would be delighted if you would take a closer look at ILIAS 9 and try it out soon. Please report any bugs that appear in your test environment so that we can try to fix them as soon as possible. And make plans now to switch to ILIAS 9 so that you can make the many improvements in ILIAS available to your users.
