In our strategy paper [1] we, the Technical Board of the ILIAS Society,
set the goal that unit tests start to become a requirement for code in
ILIAS. We want to examine the current state of the art for automated
testing in our community and discuss ways to move forward together.

Dear ILIAS-Developers!
With the introduction of the Continuous-Integration-Server [1] to our
development process, automated testing gets more traction in the ILIAS
development. In our strategy paper [2] we, the Technical Board of the
ILIAS Society, explicitly set the goal, that unit tests start to become
a requirement for code in ILIAS.
We therefore want to find out what the current state of the art for
automated testing is in our community and thus need your help. We also
want to find out if and where you have common requirements for
facilities to help you write unit tests.
I therefore want to invite you all to a skype session. Please take part

Dear maintainers of ILIAS components,
I would like to ask you to update the status of your features scheduled for 5.3 until end of the week. This would allow me to give a correct overview over all scheduled and funded features for 5.3. at the upcoming ILIAS development conference in Aachen. This is important especially for those features for which a contract has been settled or that are already in development. If your features are already up-to-date I would like to thank you very much for your support.
And if there a features on the list ‚Release 5.3‘ or on the list ‚Scheduled for 5.3‘ that won’t make it into 5.3 but are planned for 5.4 now, please change the metadata accordingly. A new tag „Suggested for 5.4“ has been introduced today. This will avoid that such feature requests are set automatically to ‚Not scheduled yet‘ when the first beta version of 5.3 has been published.
