Dear fellow developers,
You all know the Refinery by now, right?
In September, Richard invited you to share your thoughts on
"kindlyTo"-transformations and promised a workshop to discuss
needs and specs of specific transformations.
While we are certainly a little late with the date, the degree
of participation is increaseable, too....
Please feel (re-)encouraged to think about your services/modules in
terms of boundaries and interfaces to the outer world - when you
stumble upon input that might vary in its gestalt: voila, there is
your usecase for a kindlyTo-transformation.
Just comments or signs of (dis)approval are highly valued as well.
Share your thoughts in this Etherpad [1].
We will use it as a basis for discussion when we agreed on a date here [2].
Thank you, and see you then,
Nils

Dear all,
We would like to publish ILIAS 5.4.9 and 5.3.19 on Friday, January 17, 2020.
If you need more time to fix bugs that should become part of this bug
fix release, please let me know.
Best regards
Fabian Wolf
Dear ILIAS developers,
I am pleased to announce the we just opened a group in our development
section for working out a base concept for fostering the offline use of
ILIAS:
https://docu.ilias.de/goto_docu_grp_8190.html
I invite everyone who is interested in the topic to join the group,
participate in forum discussions and virtual meetings.
The group contains a poll for finding a date four our first VC, which is
mainly focusing on gathering the requirements and scenarios around ILIAS
offline use cases.
Looking forward in working out the next steps towards offline support in
ILIAS.
Best regards,
Alexander Killing

Dear ILIAS developers,
We finally have completed coding ILIAS 6 and published a first beta release yesterday. This allows us to start testing of ILIAS 6 today. Thanks to all of you who contributed to this great piece of software. Especially due to the Page Layout Revision, developing ILIAS 6 was quite a challenge. But we made it! That’s great.
Together with 6.0 beta1 we also created a „release_6" branch for ILIAS 6: https://github.com/ILIAS-eLearning/ILIAS/commits/release_6. As you know from past versions, this branch is only open for bug fixes. New features for ILIAS 7 have to be committed to trunk (which is now open for new features). But don’t forget to commit your ILIAS 6 bug fixes to trunk, too.
In case not all of your ILIAS 6 feature wiki pages have a completed documentation section (chap. 8) yet, please add the missing information and screenshots within the next days. It is a MUST to do this until Coding Completed, so please take this requirement seriously.
And last but not least: please check if your ILIAS 6 features appear on the release 6 page: https://docu.ilias.de/goto_docu_wiki_wpage_5457_1357.html. If not, you probably haven’t set the metadata correctly. The release 6 page lists only features with status „published in trunk“. All other statuses are ignored.
Thanks again for your contribution and support!
Kind regards,
Matthias

Dear ILIAS developers,
On behalf of Technical Board and ILIAS product management I would like to notify you that we changed the deadline for ‚Coding Completed' of ILIAS 6 to December 06, 2019, due to open development issues. Our developers need this extra time to complete the Page Layout Revision and to deliver the beta version in a status that can be tested successfully. Therefore, the following dates in the ILIAS 6 timeline have been changed, too:
Coding Completed: now at December 06, 2019
Test cases completed: now at December 06, 2019
Documentation at related Feature Wiki page: now at December 06, 2019
Publishing of 6.0_beta1: now at December 09, 2019
Start of testing ILIAS 6: now at December 10, 2019
Other deadlines haven’t changed. You always find the actual timeline of ILIAS 6 here: https://docu.ilias.de/goto_docu_wiki_wpage_5457_1357.html <https://docu.ilias.de/goto_docu_wiki_wpage_5457_1357.html>
We apologise for any inconvenience and thank you for your support.
Kind regards,
Matthias Kunkel
