Hello everyone,
we just merged a PR [1] that checks for the existence of the license header that we agreed upon [2] in the files that have been changed in a PR or commit.
Please make sure that you add the appropriate header to your files. The according rector from Fabian might help:
./libs/composer/vendor/bin/rector process --clear-cache --no-diffs --config ./CI/Rector/basic_rector.php YOUR_FOLDER

Dear list members,
we would kindly ask you to use "8.0 Alpha" as product version when
reporting issues for ILIAS 8 in the alpha phase (means: now).
Unfortunately the availability of a configured version in Mantis cannot
be differentiated between product version and target version. The "8.0
Beta1" version should only be used as >target< version and could be used
as >product< version once the beta has been released.

Dear all,
the new and finally somewhat operational test installation
test8.ilias.de has now an increased update frequency of every two hours
to support our efforts to get PHP8.0 working.
Please note that the installation will be unavailable for about 7
minutes while these updates are performed and the control structure will
be invalid afterwards.
To test the behavior of PHP8.0 use 80test8.ilias.de and for PHP7.4 use
test7.ilias.de .

One of the Big Projects suggested for ILIAS 9 is "Views / InnerContent", see https://docu.ilias.de/goto_docu_wiki_wpage_7292_1357.html
This Project is at a very early stage but there are several objectives, we already want to address in ILIAS 9. In short, "Views" are locations in ILIAS a user sees, e.g. all Tabs, Subtabs, "Unterwelten" a.s.o. With ILIAS 9 all of those "Views" shall get a unique Identification wich can be used for purposes such as the Online-Help and other features which must know where a user is currently in ILIAS.
I’d like to inform all interested people in a Kick-Off-Workshop which will give a deeper look into the ideas currently available and defining next steps. Please have a look at the possible dates for this workshop, after having a final date I will create an entry in the official Workshop-Datacollection on documents.ilias.de

Due to some issues with the MainMenu we already have published release 7.9 on GitHub, see https://github.com/ILIAS-eLearning/ILIAS/releases/tag/v7.9. It is recommened to use this release instead of the previously published 7.8.
